Even in these times of great uncertainty. let us welcome the beginning of summer with dance, community and movement which frees our body, heart and spirits.
Historically, May Day originated as a pagan celebration of spring and fertility, later evolving into a day of labor protest and solidarity. May Day, also known as International Workers' Day or Labor Day, holds significance on multiple fronts. It marks the beginning of spring in many cultures, while also commemorating the struggle for workers' rights and better working conditions. In many countries, it's a day to celebrate the labor movement and its achievements. Collectively we can move mountains.
Dance is at Good Medicine, 7-830pm, 231 York Street. There will be ambiance. Cost $15-$35

DJ All for Love / Sage Hayes (she/he/they):
In the early 80s, sage began DJ’ing as a wee kid in the back of the school bus, blasting Michael Jackson’s ‘Off the Wall’ on their dad’s cassette recorder. These days Sage is always ready with a playlist and a bluetooth speaker in a backpack ready to rock a room with chill ambiance or boogie tunes. Sage helped start Portland Community Dance in 2015 as one of the original 4 DJs and is now looking forward to curating once a month dances at Good Medicine in Portland, Maine..
